General RAS recycles asphalt shingle into recycled asphalt shingle (RAS); a product that replaces a portion of the asphalt cement used in hot mix asphalt.
The General RAS process demonstrates our company’s commitment to the environment while helping municipalities preserve limited space in landfills. Recycling is a growing concern for most Canadians and every landfill in the country is struggling to reduce the use of irreplaceable landfill airspace.
Annually in Canada over 1.5 million tonnes of asphalt shingles are discarded. Our process returns those shingles to the resource stream.
We take a material that has always been treated as waste in the past, and process it into a valuable, usable product.
